Gulzar, Amit Trivedi & B Praak unite for ‘Sach Ka Daayra’ in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Daayra’ starring Kareena Kapoor Khan & Prithviraj Sukumaran
Mumbai, 10th September 2026: “Sach Ka Daayra,” the latest song from Junglee Pictures’ much-awaited film Daayra, brings together an extraordinary creative lineup of Gulzar, Amit Trivedi and B Praak. Released by Junglee Music, the song brings the writing of Gulzar, the atmospheric music of Amit Trivedi and B Praak’s evocative voice together with the cinematic world created by director Meghna Gulzar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. More than a conventional Bollywood soundtrack, “Sach Ka Daayra” is positioned as an emotional extension of Daayra, reflecting the film’s central ideas of truth, perception and perspective.
At the heart of the track is Gulzar’s layered writing, which explores the shifting nature of truth through changing circumstances and viewpoints. Amit Trivedi’s composition gives those words an atmospheric musical setting, while B Praak brings a powerful yet restrained emotional quality to the performance. Kareena Kapoor Khan described the song as capturing the emotional core of the film and said, “Sach Ka Daayra captures the emotional core of the film. The song also deepens the thematic world of Daayra, with Meghna Gulzar describing it as a distillation of the film’s angst, helplessness and underlying plea for justice. Meghna Gulzar, director of Daayra, said, “Sach Ka Daayra distils the emotional core of the film, its angst, helplessness and beneath it all, a plea for justice to prevail. The lyrics, composition and vocals come together to give these emotions their full weight and intensity”. Poet and lyricist Gulzar further added by saying, “Sach ka Daayra ek tarfa nahin hai. Na vo ek lakeer hai. Waqt, haalaat aur nazariye ke saath, vo badalta rehta hai. Aur yahi, ye gaana bayaan karta hai”
The collaboration between the veteran poet, Amit Trivedi and B Praak therefore works beyond the conventional singer-composer-lyricist format, creating a musical piece designed to function as another voice within the film’s narrative. Singer B Praak shared, “This song asked for a different kind of expression. There is strength in its emotion, but also a quietness, and finding that balance was what made recording it special.” Composer Amit Trivedi further said, “The song needed a sound that stayed true to the story. Gulzar sahab’s layered writing and B Praak’s emotional force came together to create something deeply rooted in the world of Daayra.”
With Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran leading the film under Meghna Gulzar’s direction, “Sach Ka Daayra” sets an introspective and emotionally charged tone for Daayra.
