Aastha Gill Announces Debut Punjabi EP ‘Wild Card’, Celebrating Her North Indian Roots
Mumbai, 10th October 2026: Pop singer Aastha Gill has released Wild Card, her debut Punjabi EP, featuring three brand-new tracks: ‘21 Shots’, ‘Farebi’ and ‘Calgary’. Released through Rthyms, the world’s first fully automated music label, the project marks a defining moment in Gill’s career as she embraces her North Indian roots and steps into a new chapter as an independent artist.
Known for her chart-topping Punjabi collaborations with artists including Badshah and Diljit Dosanjh, the Delhi-born singer now takes creative control of her music. Following an eight-month hiatus dedicated to reshaping her sound, Gill returns with a project that blends authentic Punjabi storytelling with global pop aesthetics. Exploring modern love, distance, loyalty and emotional confrontations, Wild Card reflects her artistic evolution and determination to create music entirely on her own terms.
The EP opens with ‘21 Shots’, a high-energy narrative about a fiercely loyal relationship between a high-fashion law student in London and a fearless Majhail from Punjab. ‘Farebi’, written by Gurjit Gill, captures a woman confronting a deceitful partner who prioritises parties and a lavish lifestyle over their relationship. Closing the EP, ‘Calgary’, written by Rym Gill, explores the emotional challenges of long-distance love, portraying a Punjabi woman navigating the Canadian winter while her partner remains immersed in Chandigarh’s music scene. Drawing on the fierce imagery associated with Jeona Morh, the track underscores her unwavering loyalty despite rumours and distance.

Speaking about the release, Aastha Gill says, “Releasing my debut Punjabi EP, Wild Card, independently has been a liberating experience and a true homecoming for me. Over the years, I’ve done some amazing Punjabi features, but this is the first time I am steering the ship entirely on my own terms. Because it’s so close to my heart, I wanted it to be absolutely perfect, my Punjabi actually needed a lot of polishing and we went through countless takes and retakes in the studio to get the diction, the grit, and the emotion exactly right. We decided to call the EP Wild Card because it represents the unexpected; no one in their wildest dreams thought I would drop this kind of project right now. I wanted to go back to my roots and deliver something raw, authentic, and unapologetic. With ‘21 Shots,’ ‘Farebi,’ and ‘Calgary,’ we are bringing three entirely different vibes to the table that reflect the modern Punjabi spirit. We took gritty narratives, wrapped them up in a hyper-stylized pop universe, and I can’t wait for my fans to experience this ultimate wild card move.”
Visually, Wild Card brings together vibrant bubble-gum pop colours, funky undertones and high-fashion styling. Known for her distinctive fashion statements, Gill showcases a series of striking, hyper-stylised looks that give the project the feel of a global runway experience.
