Mumbai, 26th May 2026: Mumbai-based Hindustani classical vocalist Maahi Zaveri has been selected as a Scholarship Awardee under the Scheme of Award of Scholarships to Young Artists in Different Cultural Fields (2025–2026) by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Government of India. At just 21 years old, Maahi stands among 38 recipients in Hindustani Vocal Music across the country and is one of only three female recipients from Maharashtra. The recognition highlights her exceptional training, artistic discipline, and growing impact in India’s classical music landscape at a time when younger audiences are increasingly rediscovering traditional art forms.
Trained in Hindustani classical music since the age of four, Maahi Zaveri spent a decade learning under Shri Nishad Bakre Ji and is currently training under Sushree Rutuja Lad in the revered Jaipur Gharana tradition. Beyond performance, Maahi has emerged as a modern ambassador for classical music through digital storytelling, raag explorations, and educational content designed for younger audiences. Her artistic journey includes performances at prestigious platforms such as Humans of Bombay’s All India Mehfil, where she shared screen space with renowned sitarist Anoushka Shankar. She is also the Co-Founder of Kaleidoscope Classical, an innovative classical music quartet bringing fresh ensemble-driven energy to contemporary Indian classical performance spaces.
As classical music continues to evolve within digital culture, Maahi Zaveri represents a new generation of artists preserving tradition while making it more accessible and culturally relevant. Prior to receiving the CCRT scholarship, she was recognised by organizations including Swar Sadhana Samiti, Mitra Foundation, and Indian Oil Corporation for her contribution as a promising young artist. With a growing online presence and a strong commitment to education, performance, and cultural storytelling, Maahi continues to redefine how Hindustani classical music connects with contemporary audiences.
