At the emotional centre of the album is the title nazm, ‘Muddaton Baad’, penned by Ajay Sahaab. The composition explores the devastating experience of meeting someone after a long time, only to realise they have changed completely. Memories remain intact, but the emotional connection has disappeared. Pratibha Singh Baghel brings extraordinary sensitivity to this central theme, transforming the poetry into an intimate musical confession. The album also features ‘Chhod Do Tumse Baghawat’, ‘Badshah’ and ‘Chanda’, bringing together different writers, composers and producers while maintaining the project’s poetic character.

Pratibha Singh Baghel has emerged as one of the prominent contemporary voices carrying the ghazal tradition forward. She first gained national recognition after topping the Shankar Mahadevan Gharana on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge in 2009. Since then, her repertoire has expanded across film, theatre and live performance, including projects such as Bandish Bandits, Yudhra, Manikarnika, Bazaar, Bhuj and Bellbottom. Her theatrical work has also included leading roles in musical productions such as Umrao Jaan Ada and Mughal-e-Azam. Her recent performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall further reflects her growing international presence.

Produced by Sufiscore and filmed against the enchanting backdrop of Vienna, Muddaton Baad ultimately becomes more than an album. It is a meeting point between poetry and contemporary music, where memories, heartbreak and human emotion find a timeless voice. Pratibha Singh Baghel will also bring this musical world to the stage at NMACC on October 9, 2026, as part of the Sufiscore series.
