Don't Be Shy

‘Jhoomo’! Saahel, Jonita Gandhi & Ram Sampath bring the groove to Prime Video’s ‘Don’t Be Shy’

Mumbai, 3rd September 2026: The countdown to Prime Video’s upcoming film Don’t Be Shy has officially begun with the release of ‘Jhoomo’, the film’s first song. Presented by T-Series, the upbeat track is packed with infectious grooves, playful energy and the carefree spirit of growing up. Sung by Saahel and Jonita Gandhi, and composed by Ram Sampath, with lyrics by Ram Sampath and Devansh Vaidya, ‘Jhoomo’ immediately establishes the film’s vibrant musical identity. With energetic choreography, catchy beats and a colourful retro-inspired visual aesthetic, the song arrives as an instant feel-good anthem designed to make listeners do exactly what its title suggests – jhoomo.

What makes ‘Jhoomo’ stand out is the way it captures the wonderfully chaotic energy of youth. Rather than leaning into an overly polished idea of growing up, the song celebrates friendship, crushes, spontaneous celebrations and those unforgettable moments when everyone simply lets loose. Saahel and Jonita Gandhi bring an energetic vocal presence to Ram Sampath’s groove-driven composition, while the playful lyrics add to the track’s easygoing appeal. The result is a song that feels tailor-made for dance playlists, college-age celebrations and anyone looking for a burst of upbeat energy. The retro-inspired fashion and lively choreography further amplify the song’s youthful personality, giving Don’t Be Shy a soundtrack that feels as colourful and spirited as its characters.

Speaking about the song, composer and lyricist Ram Sampath shared, “‘Jhoomo’ was conceived as a song that celebrates the simple joy of being in the moment. We wanted it to have a lively, rhythmic quality that felt effortless and inviting while complementing the playful world of Don’t Be Shy. The cast brought an incredible sense of energy and camaraderie to the song, which really elevated the overall mood. Their enthusiasm and chemistry added a wonderful spontaneity to the track, making it especially enjoyable to put together. I’m thrilled with how “Jhoomo” has come together and hope it brings the same sense of joy to everyone who listens to it.”

Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, Don’t Be Shy follows Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das, a 20-year-old who believes she has her life figured out before an unexpected turn sends her carefully planned world into chaos. The coming-of-age film stars Aarushi Bajaj, Ansh Duggal, Bianca Arora and Piyush Khati, alongside Kunaal Roy Kapur, Anurag Basu, Neha Dhupia and Anju Alva Naik in pivotal roles. Produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt under Eternal Sunshine Productions, and co-produced by Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani of Chalkboard Entertainment, the film will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi with English subtitles across India and more than 240 countries and territories on September 25, 2026. With ‘Jhoomo’ setting the mood, Don’t Be Shy looks ready to bring a fresh dose of music, friendship, romance and youthful chaos to the screen.
