Kaber Vasuki, in the Tamil independent music scene, is often celebrated as a mystic storyteller and healer of souls by his fans. His journey began in 2008 with the release of lo-fi demos from a browsing center in Thanjavur, which helped him build an online following and eventually led him to Chennai in 2010 to pursue music. He gained significant recognition with ‘Azhagu Puratchi’, Tamil indie’s first successful crowdfunding project in 2014.
Following this, his band Kurangan, active from 2015 to 2017, redefined the Tamil indie music landscape and inspired many artists to explore new musical avenues. After the band disbanded in 2018, Kaber transitioned into the world of film music, contributing his talents as a composer, lyricist, and dialogue writer for films such as “Metro Maalai” (2019), “Aelay” (2021), and “Rocky” (2021). Kaber also made headlines in 2021 by selling his debut NFT for 50 ETH, marking a significant milestone in the Indian music scene.
In addition to his new album, Kaber Vasuki is also involved in the project “Unnai Arinthaal” – a Blacksheep Originals web series tackling mental health, healing, and resilience. The first single from this series, titled “Mental Health Matters,” aims to open conversations around unspoken emotions, encouraging listeners to embrace their mental wellness.
Moreover, Kaber is excited to contribute to the vibrant music landscape of Tamil cinema with his tracks “Killer Killer” and “Un Oliyile” from the highly anticipated film “Captain Miller”.
Join Kaber Vasuki on this incredible musical journey as he continues to push creative boundaries and redefine Tamil indie music.
