Mumbai, 25th November 2024: Known for pushing boundaries in Indian rock, Alluri has unveiled his latest EP, Andar Ka Janwar, a bold fusion of rock, Telugu influences, and striking visual storytelling. The record not only highlights Alluri’s artistic evolution but also redefines the genre on a global stage with its daring themes and multilingual approach.
The EP features three unique tracks, each bringing its own flavor to the table. The title track, “Andar Ka Janwar,” is a high-octane anthem capturing the chaotic beauty of inner turmoil, while the Telugu track “Chastavu” offers a darkly humorous exploration of existentialism. The Beatles-inspired “Mr. Munchedo” rounds out the collection with an introspective dive into personal demons.

Recorded across England in studios once graced by legends like Tears for Fears, the EP captures a raw, unfiltered energy. Collaborations with global icons Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols) and Andy Burrows (Razorlight) add a fresh perspective to the record. “Andy’s drumming and production on the title track elevated it to a whole new level,” said Alluri. “He simplified the arrangement and infused it with dynamic textures that really brought the song to life.”
Alluri’s music videos for the EP stand out as cinematic marvels, each crafted with surreal visuals that complement the themes of the songs. The video for “Chastavu” offers a satirical look at consumption and excess, while “Andar Ka Janwar” creates an immersive atmosphere where friends gather, only to be caught off guard by an unexpected twist.

“The music videos are like short films,” Alluri shared. “They’re designed to tell compelling stories even without sound, and it was an incredible process co-directing the Chastavu video. The collaboration with Milan Rathod and Ananya Rane brought out the best in all of us, proving what can happen when creative minds come together.”
Reflecting on his journey, Alluri spoke about his desire to connect with Indian audiences while maintaining a universal appeal. “I wanted to write songs that resonate with my roots,” he said. “From Telugu to Hindi to English, my music is a reflection of my cultural identity. Writing in Hindi for Andar Ka Janwar was about capturing the restlessness and chaos of human existence in a way that felt relatable yet joyful.”
Collaborations with icons like Glen Matlock and Andy Burrows have been pivotal in shaping Alluri’s artistry. “Glen taught me that you just have to keep making music, no matter the outcome,” Alluri noted. “Andy’s drumming and minimalist approach taught me the power of simplicity in songwriting.”
Alluri further talks about the EP’s Themes and says, “These songs are born out of a constant passion for songwriting. Andar Ka Janwar captures the messy beauty of being alive in a chaotic world, reflecting frustrations and joys in equal measure. I wanted the visuals and themes to provoke different responses, and I’m thrilled to see how they resonate with audiences.”
As anticipation builds for Alluri’s upcoming album, The Beautiful Indian Rock and Roll Explosion, and his live performances in 2025, Andar Ka Janwar sets the tone for what’s to come—a raw, revolutionary, and deeply personal musical journey.
