Mumbai, 8th November 2026: Singer-songwriter Tanya Shanker has announced her debut full-length album, Face the Music with the release of a music video, while the complete ten-track album will release worldwide on November 14, 2026. Produced and co-composed by Recording Academy Member Richard Andrew Dudley, the record explores performance, relationships, identity, accountability and the complicated journey of growing up. Drawing inspiration from dance-pop and artists such as Lady Gaga’s The Fame, Tanya brings together introspective songwriting and experimental pop production.
Born in Bangalore, Tanya has previously collaborated with renowned musicians including Ricky Kej and Sandeep Chowta. With Face the Music, she offers a deeply personal reflection on her evolving relationship with music. The album also features musicians Yogesh Pradhan, Jaime Dudley and Ryan Joseph, who contribute to its distinctive sonic landscape. “Face the Music” reflects my lifelong relationship with music—the highs, lows, and evolution of my journey as a songwriter. It will always be special to me as I enter a new decade,” says Tanya Shanker.

Across its ten tracks, the album moves between vulnerability, humour and experimentation. Opening track ‘Spotlight’ captures the exhilaration of performing while examining the scrutiny that comes with visibility. Meanwhile, ‘Lonely Hearts Club’ transforms the exhaustion of dating and singleness into what Tanya describes as “dance crying”. ‘21st Century Celebrity’ takes a playful yet pointed look at online trolling, fickle audiences and misogyny faced by female artists. Elsewhere, ‘The Box’ explores conflicting emotions through an experimental arrangement featuring nearly 100 vocal layers. The title track examines accountability and consequences, while ‘Second Place’, ‘Square 1’ and ‘Paper Doll’ explore heartbreak, destructive patterns and the pressure of meeting others’ expectations.
The album concludes with ‘Glory Days’, a reflection on nostalgia and the tendency to remain attached to the past, while leaving room for hope and new experiences. Recording Academy Member Richard Andrew Dudley shares, “This truly comes from the heart. Two years in the making, it carries so much love and passion, and we know it will be received in the same spirit in which it was created.” With its worldwide audio release scheduled for November 14, 2026, Tanya Shanker’s debut album asks an intriguing question: what if the best times are still waiting to come?
