“I Liked Today”, latest single of Krittika, makes you connect with yourself
Mumbai, 12th March 2021: Krittika is a singer songwriter who grew up in Mumbai and Singapore and is presently based in New York. Heartfelt melodies, touch of the dramatic streaked with undeniable Indian influences define her music – an amalgam of feminist influences and her roots and upbringing.
The first track of her debut EP, Woman in Despair, was featured in the New Music Friday Singapore playlist by Spotify. She worked with Producer, Calvin Gaines (Destiny’s Child, Lady Gaga) on her single, ‘The Song About Home’, a song about living the most of last five years miles away from home. In March 2020, she opened for Rock Fantasia at The Bitter End in New York.
For her latest single, ‘I Liked Today’, which was released on 5th March, she says, “Ït is a product of 2020. At a time when I felt I didn’t know anything, an unexpected night spent with a friend made it so easy to be in the moment. And everything else just felt simple. It made me stop and say ‘I don’t know much in 2020 but I know I liked today’”
I wrote this song when I came home that night. ‘I Liked Today’ was featured in the New Music Friday India playlist by Spotify. She further says, “I am in the process of filming a dance music video in collaboration with cinematographer Yiv and dancer-actor Beni Gottesman, scheduled to be released in mid April 2021.”
The song will be performed live at my upcoming show at The Delancey NYC on June 5th, 2021.
