Artist-Producer-Activist Nuka (Anushka Manchanda) Launches Spiritual Project With The Release Of 6-Track Album – Mahamrityunjay Mantra

Mumbai, 11th March 2021: On the occasion of Mahashivratri, 11th March 2021, singer-composer – music producer Nuka releases her 6 track, Mahamrityunjay Album, through ‘I am Seeking’, a brand that she envisioned in the lockdown last year.

’I am Seeking’ is a project that transcends religion, creed, and race, through which Nuka will release audio-video pieces, experiences, and products that live in the spiritual realm. It will be built around mantras, vibrations, and frequencies with the intention to heal ourselves, so we can heal the world.

With the first release under ‘I am Seeking’, she takes from her own experiences and offers a deep dive into the world of the Mahamrityunjay mantra, deeply researched to create multi-lingual (English and Hindi) audiobooks and explaining the significance of the 108 Jaap, the story of the mantra’s creation, and how it affects us.

Conceptualised and executed by Nuka, the softer, electronically produced textures infused with live violins by Shravan Sridhar, recorded remotely during the lockdown, are a departure from the usual intense versions of this mantra, make this a hybrid of digital and analog sounds. The 6-minute mantra leads into the multi-lingual audiobooks, researched by a mythology student, and sound-designed by Nuka to create an immersive, sonic environment, full of theatrical twists and turns.

Taking cues from the research about the power of the 108 repetitions of this mantra, Nuka has also created a full-length 47-minute track for those who wish to dig deeper.

Nuka (Anushka Manchanda) actively lobbies for sustainability, equality, the environment, and animal rights through her art and her voice. Speaking to her commitment to nature, the visual artistry of Nuka introduces you to a thriving, luscious forest that comes to life to tell the story of the Mahamrityumjay mantra and all its pieces. Directed by Nuka and shot by DOP Harshbir Singh in Chikmaglur, Karnataka, who also collaborated on her last video Kashmir.

The Mahamrityunjay Album is now available on www.iamnuka.com and all major streaming platforms. The Album will also be available in Dolby ATMOS.

Nuka on I am Seeking :

“Though the pandemic I realised that we as humans are hurting, not just nature’s way of life, but ourselves too. 2020 brought many of us to introspect into the worlds we had created for ourselves, where darkness can creep in easily. All the aggression and anger I feel, must be neutralised with compassion and empathy. A true difference to the environment, society and humanity shall therefore be possible.”

Nuka on Mahamrityunjay Mantra :

“I was 9 when I heard this mantra for the first time. Through the years that followed I found myself going back to it whenever someone I loved was sick or in danger. I have derived a lot of strength from this powerful mantra, and I feel compelled to share it with others who could benefit from it, the way I have.
