Taylor Swift Expands ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Era, ‘Patient Zero’ Music Video Stars Dakota Johnson & Colin Farrell

Mumbai, 25^th September 2026: Taylor Swift is extending the world of The Life of a Showgirl with four new songs, a cinematic ‘Patient Zero’ music video and an all-star cast featuring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell. The singer’s The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore arrives with four new tracks, ‘Patient Zero,’ ‘Pink Clouding,’ ‘Babylon’ and ‘Cleveland!’, expanding the album that originally arrived in October 2025. Swift revealed that the additional songs came after she travelled to Sweden to celebrate the original album’s record-breaking first week with collaborators Max Martin and Shellback. What began as a celebration turned into another creative session, resulting in new music that Swift described as being born from gratitude for the response to the album.

At the centre of the new chapter is ‘Patient Zero,’ which is accompanied by a dramatic music video directed by Swift herself and starring Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell. A preview of the video shows Swift alongside the two actors in a series of visually striking scenes involving a bathroom, a gravesite, a pool and tense interactions between the characters. Academy Award-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, known for films including The Revenant, Birdman and Gravity, is behind the cinematography. The full video will make its world premiere during the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27, giving the new song a major visual launch alongside its September 25 release.

Dakota Johnson has also spoken about working with Swift on the project, describing their creative relationship as one that works particularly well. The collaboration adds another dimension to ‘Patient Zero’, bringing together Swift’s songwriting and directing with Johnson and Farrell’s screen performances.
