Shilpa Ananth releases video song ‘Reproduction’, album streaming worldwide
Mumbai, 09th October 2023: It’s always exciting when an artist releases new music, especially after several years since their last EP. It’s notable that Shilpa has taken on the roles of both songwriter and composer for all 11 original tracks on the album, which shows her creative talent and dedication to her craft. The involvement of Drew Of the Drew for production and mixing, Jake Sherman for keys and synths, and Beatbox Ray for additional engineering suggests a collaborative effort with some talented individuals in the music industry. Jett Galindo’s mastering work at The Bakery is also a good sign for audio quality. The fact that the title track of the album has an interesting music video which was released on the 7th of October, shot in the southern part of India adds another layer of excitement and cultural richness to the project.

Speaking about the album Shilpa says, “My second album release ‘Reproduction’ is a powerful story about a woman who dares to defy societal and cultural norms, breaking the holds of patriarchal control, and choosing to follow her dreams rather than to do the stereotypical, tried and tested path followed by those before her. Through each song she finds more and more liberation, strength and acceptance within herself”.
Shilpa Ananth is an Indian vocalist, songwriter, and performing artist based in the UAE. With a unique sound that fuses the dreamy landscapes of South India with Soul, Jazz, Pop and Electronic influences. Shilpa brings together 3 of the oldest Indian languages – Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi – with English and Arabic, creating art that transcends borders and cultures.
After graduating with an honors from Berklee College of Music and self- releasing her successful debut EP ‘Indian Soul’, Shilpa has recorded and performed with Grammy award- winning composers, A R Rahman, Bobby McFerrin, Bill Whalen, Chandrika Tandon, and Javier Limon’s ‘Original Quartet’. She also featured on Thana Alexa’s Grammy-nominated album “Ona”.
