Karan Kalra Turns Kalra Saab: Latest Single ‘Aise Na Paagal Karo’ Marks His Emotional Music Foray

Mumbai, 24th April 2026: In a move few saw coming, Karan Kalra, best known as the co-founder of Comic Con India, has steppped into the spotlight as Kalra Saab, marking a deeply personal shift from boardrooms to ballads. His latest single, ‘Aise Na Paagal Karo’, signals the beginning of a new artistic identity rooted in vulnerability, storytelling, and emotional honesty. For an industry increasingly shaped by multi-hyphenate creators, Kalra’s transition reflects a broader trend of reinvention in modern music culture.

‘Aise Na Paagal Karo’ is an intimate Hindi-Urdu ballad that explores the fragile imbalance of love, the ache of giving more than you receive. The track captures the psyche of an enchanted lover seeking acceptance, weaving themes of longing, devotion, and emotional surrender. Complemented by a cinematic music video featuring Sage Kurmi and Hitul Pujara, the visual narrative amplifies this tension, portraying the quiet heartbreak of chasing something that always feels just out of reach. The release is accompanied by his first music video – a cinematic experience featuring actors Sage Kurmi and Hitul Pujara, a young actor who appeared as Akshaye Khanna’s son’s character (Naieem Baloch) in the Bollywood blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar’.

“My song writing often comes from a place of internal observation, patiently noticing a feeling and allowing for it to unfold”, said Kalra Saab. “Writing in Urdu and Hindi for the first time brought a new kind of tenderness to my voice that I didn’t know existed. In this process, I held on to this song for quite a while waiting for the right moment. Working with Bharath helped shape the sound in a way that felt complete, and Mitali’s directorial vision finally brought it to life. I hope the viewers find something of themselves in it”, he added.

Musically, the song is a fusion of Sufi-inspired lyricism with contemporary pop and R&B textures. This is Kalra Saab’s first collaboration with producer Bharath, whose modern sonic palette complements Karan’s introspective writing style. The result is a track that feels both nostalgic and fresh, echoing influences of legends like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan while staying grounded in today’s streaming-driven soundscape. Early indicators from independent releases suggest that genre-blending tracks like this are increasingly resonating with younger audiences, especially across South Asian diaspora markets.

With previous releases like ‘Main Teriyan’ landing on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Punjabi cover and ‘Dholna Ve’ building momentum for his debut EP, Karan Kalra is crafting Kalra Saab as a long-term artistic vision. Drawing inspiration from platforms like Coke Studio and his own cross-industry experience, he represents a new kind of artist, one who blends business acumen with creative depth. In 2026, ‘Aise Na Paagal Karo’ isn’t just a debut moment, it looks like the start of a journey that feels both unexpected and deeply authentic.
