Mumbai, 14th August 2026: Aastha Gill is stepping into a new chapter with ‘Fursat’, officially marking the beginning of her independent music era in partnership with Raag Entertainment & Experience Pvt Ltd. The release arrives after an eight-month hiatus that gave the singer time for artistic reflection, self-discovery and a complete creative reset. Now, with a renewed musical identity and a new team behind her, Gill returns with a song that combines poetic romance with contemporary pop energy. Fursat serves as the opening statement of an ambitious new phase, with a diverse slate of music expected to follow in the coming months.

Written by Kunal Verma, Fursat explores love, longing and emotional intimacy through an Urdu-infused lyrical vocabulary. Its central hook captures the intensity of surrendering completely to love, presenting two fleeting moments as a lifetime devoted to another person. The song’s poetry gives it a timeless romantic quality, while its themes of emotional dependence and transformation explore how deeply love can alter one’s perception of time and self. This lyrical richness creates an intriguing contrast with the song’s upbeat musical identity, allowing Aastha to retain her pop sensibility while exploring a more emotionally layered sound.

For Aastha Gill, Fursat represents more than a comeback, it is an introduction to a more honest version of her artistry. Reflecting on the eight-month break, Aastha Gill states, “This independent chapter is the most honest version of me. Taking an eight-month break was terrifying but necessary to strip away the noise, rediscover my voice and figure out who I want to be as an artist. Fursat is the perfect introduction to this new era. It strikes a beautiful balance between traditional Urdu romanticism and contemporary, high-energy pop. The music video really drives home the message of the song: it is about loving deeply, but ultimately reclaiming your own narrative and celebrating your independence”.
Composed by Dev Sadaana and produced by Sanjoy, Fursat brings together traditional romanticism and a high-energy contemporary production style. The track is designed to retain the infectious quality associated with Aastha Gill while introducing listeners to a more evolved creative direction. Directed by Preet & Harry, the accompanying music video was shot in Goa and takes a refreshing approach to the traditional romantic narrative. Instead of centring the female protagonist entirely around another person, the visual story focuses on her celebrating her own precious moments. The understated styling further keeps Aastha’s personality and the song’s message at the forefront.
