Zee Music Company Continues Strategic Expansion In South, Adds I’M GAME After Toxic

Mumbai, 29th July 2026: Zee Music Company is taking a major leap towards becoming India’s definitive multilingual music powerhouse with an ambitious expansion across South Indian cinema. Strengthening its presence beyond Hindi and independent music, the label has announced a massive slate of acquisitions spanning Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films, reinforcing its commitment to celebrating regional music on a national stage. With blockbuster projects, acclaimed filmmakers and chart-topping composers joining its growing catalogue, Zee Music Company is positioning itself as one of India’s fastest-growing all-India music labels.

The company’s regional momentum began with the critical success of the Malayalam film Balan: The Boy, directed by Chidambaram with music by Sushin Shyam, paving the way for a broader South Indian strategy. Building on that success, Zee Music Company has now secured the music rights for one of Malayalam cinema’s most anticipated films, I Am Game, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Samyuktha Viswanathan, Mysskin, Kathir, Antony Varghese and Parth Tiwari. Directed by Nahas Hidayath with music composed by Jakes Bejoy, the film further strengthens the label’s premium regional catalogue while highlighting its focus on culturally rooted storytelling and powerful musical experiences.

The expansion extends far beyond Malayalam cinema. Zee Music Company has acquired music rights for an impressive lineup of Telugu blockbusters including Vikramarka, Pallaburusu, Happy Journey, Mega 158 starring Chiranjeevi, NBK 111 featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Kajal Aggarwal, Nayanthara and Sanjay Dutt, Kanaka Durga, and VenkyAnil5 starring Venkatesh, Kalyan Ram, Keerthy Suresh and Krithi Shetty. Its growing Kannada slate includes Birbal: Case 2, Vibhrama and Mangala Gowri, while Tamil audiences can look forward to Slumdog: 33 Temple Road, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Tabu. The label has also secured the multilingual music rights for Toxic, starring Rocking Star Yash, making it one of the biggest acquisitions in its expanding pan-India portfolio.

Beyond feature films, Zee Music Company is investing heavily in original music-driven intellectual properties by partnering with ZEE5 Malayalam’s Kerala Underground, an upcoming hip-hop reality show celebrating Kerala’s emerging rap culture. Speaking about the expansion, Chief Business Officer Sujal Parekh said the collaboration with Wayfarer Films for I Am Game marks another important milestone in the company’s pan-India growth journey. With an ever-expanding catalogue spanning Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Punjabi, Gujarati, devotional and independent music, Zee Music Company is redefining India’s music landscape while ensuring regional sounds reach audiences across the country and beyond.
