Yami Gautam Dhar brings the party to zombies with ‘Phata Patakha’ from Nayyi Navelli

Mumbai, 6th October 2026: Yami Gautam Dhar takes centre stage in a never-before-seen avatar with ‘Phata Patakha’, the high-energy second song from Nayyi Navelli. Presented by Zee Music Company in association with Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow, the track transforms the film’s zombies into the unlikely stars of a full-blown dance party. Composed and produced by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with lyrics by Vayu and vocals by Madhubanti Bagchi, the song combines infectious beats, a catchy hook and larger-than-life choreography by Vijay Ganguly.

‘Phata Patakha’ brings an unexpected musical twist to the fantasy world of Nayyi Navelli, turning the undead into the life of the party. Built around celebratory energy and a dance-ready rhythm, the track arrives ahead of the film’s theatrical release and could find a natural place on the Navratri dance floor. The song’s quirky concept also reflects the unusual world of the film, which promises a mix of fantasy, mystery, comedy and all-out masala entertainment.

For G. V. Prakash Kumar, the song offered an opportunity to experiment with an unusual musical world while maintaining the eccentricity of the film. G. V. Prakash Kumar said, “Phata Patakha gave us the opportunity to experiment with a very unusual musical world. The idea was to take the eccentricity of Nayyi Navelli and translate it into a track that feels instantly celebratory. I wanted the composition to have a strong hook and an energy that stays with you, while still retaining the quirky character of the film. Vayu’s lyrics and Madhubanti’s vocals brought exactly the playful, uninhibited quality the song needed, and Yami’s performance takes that energy to another level.” Madhubanti Bagchi further added and said, “Phata Patakha is pure, uninhibited madness packed with humour and incredible energy. Recording it was an absolute blast because the track is just so larger-than-life with that playful, high-octane edge. The creative pairing of G. V. Prakash Kumar and Vayu made this one of the most exciting tracks I’ve ever recorded. I can’t wait to see people dancing to it!”

Directed by Balaji Mohan and written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, Nayyi Navelli stars Yami Gautam Dhar alongside Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vasisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee and Prateek Pachori. Produced by Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma, the G. V. Prakash Kumar musical is set to arrive in cinemas across India on October 16, 2026, ahead of Dussehra. With ‘Phata Patakha’, the film adds a colourful, dance-heavy dimension to its fantasy universe—and gives Yami a distinctly unexpected musical moment.
