Vidhya Gopal’s ‘Mehfil’: A soulful live album bringing Semi-Classical Indian Music to today’s world

Mumbai, 6^th September 2025: Mumbai-based independent vocalist and composer Vidhya Gopal recently released her debut live album, Vidhya Gopal’s Mehfil, a mesmerizing blend of thumri, folk, and traditional bandish, reimagined for the modern listener.

Recorded in front of a live audience at Chaubara by Veda Factory, Versova, the album captures the raw intimacy and spontaneity of a true mehfil, offering listeners a deeply immersive musical experience. Backed by a talented ensemble of musicians on harmonium, keys, tabla, guitar, bass, and percussion, each track presents a unique arrangement, reflecting the many layers of Vidhya’s evolving sound.
