Shruti Haasan shares why meeting A.R. Rahman was a life-changing moment!

Mumbai, 29th April 2025: From emotional fan moments to successful musical collaborations, Shruti details her journey with the legendary composer. Opening up about her admiration for artists, Shruti Haasan recalled, “I always feel like when I really love somebody’s art, I don’t like to meet them. Like, I met Tori Amos in London and I started crying like a total fan girl and I started shaking and crying because she was a part of who I am as a musician. I got her email ID but I didn’t mail her because I didn’t want to spoil where I keep her. So, when I met Rahman sir, I was super worried about that, but he has turned out to be really evolved, kind, and wonderful and that’s my favourite thing about Rahman sir. I grew up loving his music and then got to meet a person who is truly evolved, and then you understand why the music is like that.”

Shruti’s journey with Rahman has blossomed into multiple collaborations, including It’s A Break Up Da from Kadhalikka Neramillai, Tamil anthem Semmozhi, and the special MTV Unplugged performance of Ranjha Ranjha.

On movie front, Shruti will be seen in the much-anticipated action drama Coolie with Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna, and is making her international film debut with The Eye, set for release later in 2025.
