Saphron releases ‘Bone Collector’, a dark-pop statement of Identity, Power & Duality

Mumbai, 20th October 2025: British-Sri Lankan artist Saphron returns this October with ‘Bone Collector’, a haunting dark-pop and R&B-inspired whodunnit that dives deep into the duality of perception, power, and self-acceptance. Seamlessly blending Eastern nuance with Western sonic finesse, the track stands as both a reclamation and a revelation — a story of transformation through art.

“As a woman with South Asian heritage in Western pop music, I’ve often been told I’m ‘too Western’ for the East and ‘too Eastern looking’ for the West,” shares Saphron. “Bone Collector is me claiming space, not as the ‘other,’ but as the whole. It’s about flipping judgment into power, about unity — taking everything that divides us and turning it into art”, she adds.

Directed by Azim Miah, a British-Bangladeshi filmmaker, the accompanying visual explores the beautiful and the unsettling in equal measure. “We played with extremes — light and shadow, warmth and cold — mirroring what Saphron’s music does: collide East and West, yet allow both to coexist”.

Adding to the creative synergy, Rowena Baines (Miss Peacock) notes, “You could really feel the love! Such a diversely talented group of people came together to create something incredible”.

Saphron’s vision rejects tokenism, embracing identity as fluid and multifaceted. “Growing up, I rarely saw women who looked like me in the pop or alternative music space. So, I stopped waiting for permission and started writing my own script”, she reflects. “My dream is to represent a generation that’s neither one thing nor the other — we’re all of it, all at once”.

With over 50 million streams as a songwriter for platforms like Netflix, Disney, Love Island, and Amazon Prime, Saphron has spent the past decade shaping soundtracks that reach global audiences. Her debut singles ‘Nice Try’ and ‘Weirdo’ earned BBC Radio support, marking her as one of the UK’s most distinctive British-Asian voices in alternative pop.

Looking ahead, Saphron gears up for her debut album ‘Identity Crisis’, releasing on 7th  November 2025. “Identity Crisis isn’t just my story”, she says, “It’s a mirror for anyone who’s ever felt like they didn’t quite fit — a reminder that being unboxed is a superpower”.

‘Bone Collector’ is now streaming on all major platforms.
