Niki Choudhury’s ‘With You’ launches Season 2 of ‘Monthly Melodies’ with a heartfelt Indie Pop ballad

New Delhi, 24^th October 2025: Assam-born singer-songwriter Niki Choudhury has released her new single “With You,” inaugurating Season 2 of her ambitious Monthly Melodies project. After releasing twelve heartfelt tracks between April 2024 and March 2025 in Season 1, Niki continues weaving stories of love, longing and emotional connection through her music.

Based in New Delhi, Niki has spent over 5 years crafting songs that resonate deeply, she describes herself as a “human playlist for messy love,” turning heartbreak, infatuation, and daydreams into melodies that feel like soft hugs. Her influences ranging from Enrique Iglesias to Ariana Grande shape a sound that is at once intimate and universally relatable. Trained in vocals and dance since the age of five, she combines technical finesse with raw emotional honesty. Alongside her musical journey, she pursues a Ph.D. in Colour Aesthetics at IIT Delhi and nurtures a passion for art and design.

In writing “With You,” Niki explains she wasn’t chasing a lyric or melody first — she chased a feeling: that restless, wakeful heart in the quiet of the night. The song explores love’s push and pull when distance, time, or life intervene, and how presence can exist even in absence. It is, to her, a celebration of connection, holding onto warmth even when someone is not physically near.

Her songwriting process often begins with an emotional moment that lingers. From there, melody and lyrics grow, shifting and refining until the song feels alive. For “With You,” she layered musical textures and emotive vocals to mirror the layers of feeling. Much of the ideation, vocal layering, and harmonies were created in Niki’s home studio. Producer Shan Paul brought the track to life with added depth, polish, and balance — evolving it from a simple guitar-piano sketch into a ballad infused with indie pop and R&B elements. The final version retains the song’s warmth and honesty while enriching it with expanded instrumentation.

An anecdote from the making of the track: during a lecture, a melody struck Niki so powerfully that she slipped out, recorded it on her phone, and returned as if nothing had happened. That spontaneous moment became a key spark of “With You.”

With this release, Niki hopes listeners feel – “Yes, this is exactly how it feels when you’re crushing hard,” whether they’re alone with headphones or lying awake at 2 a.m. As the first piece in Season 2, “With You” embodies her artistic core: translating raw emotions into songs people can feel as much as they can hear.
