I had just gone through a breakup, and when I got in the studio and the guitar started playing, the whole song just poured out of me naturally. It was one of those sessions where the emotions were still fresh, so the lyrics and melodies happened almost instantly. The song is about finally moving on, putting your phone on ‘Do Not Disturb’ for the ex who hurt you, and stepping into a new energy with someone who actually values you. Sonically, I wanted it to feel nostalgic, rhythmic, and modern at the same time — almost like I created my own lane between retro-inspired bossa nova textures, dance-pop, and confident storytelling”.
