Karan Khosla’s Upcoming Trilogy Is A Distinctive Blend of Tradition & Jazz Improvisation

Mumbai, 28th August 2025: Jazz guitarist, composer, and educator Karan Khosla is stepping into a defining new chapter with three powerful singles, “Written in the Weather,” “Nowhere to Run,” and “Bring Down the House.” Each track showcases a different dimension of his artistry, weaving Indian roots with global jazz traditions and the spontaneity of improvisation.

The trilogy is brought alive by a stellar international lineup featuring Michael Kobetz (Trumpet), Santiago Ortolá (Drums), Diego Soldi (Upright Bass), and Santiago Outes (Piano). Despite being spread across Argentina, Spain, and Ukraine, the musicians create an unshakable sense of chemistry, a testament to jazz as a borderless language.

“Written in the Weather,” releasing 29th August 2025, is a funk-infused anthem born from a forgotten voice memo. Khosla describes it as “a full-on groove tune meant to lift you out of your monsoon mood.” Next comes “Nowhere to Run” (26th September 2025), written in isolation during the pandemic, a fiery nod to bebop giants like Wes Montgomery and Kenny Burrell. The trilogy closes with “Bring Down the House” (31st October 2025), Khosla’s most cinematic and ambitious piece yet. “It’s layered, hard-hitting, the sound of four musicians locked in, chasing the same vision without a word,” he shares.

Khosla’s journey into music is as unique as his sound. Trained as a physicist and seasoned in management consulting, he took a leap of faith at 32, formally studying jazz under Jonathan Kreisberg while co-founding The Goa Jazz Academy, one of India’s most respected centers for jazz training. His approach is both intellectual and soulful, rooted in storytelling and community.

Blending Indian influence, rich harmonies, and modern groove, Khosla isn’t imitating the West, he’s shaping a distinct voice for Indian jazz on the global stage.
