Who is BombayMami? What kind of artistic vision comes alive with the name?
BombayMami is the version of me that’s fully alive, fully expressed. She’s Swiss-Indian, carrying her roots with pride but not afraid to bend the rules. With this name, I give myself permission to be all the parts of me—spiritual and sensual, bold and tender, old soul and new era. The vision is cultural fusion with attitude. I blend Indian classical music and R&B, streetwear and tradition, softness and power. Bombay Mami isn’t just an artist—it’s an energy.
Tell us about the making process of Fire in Delhi.
Fire in Delhi came out of a storm, internally and externally. I was going through a messy, raw chapter, and being in Delhi felt like a reflection of that. The chaos, the heat, the intensity… it matched what I was feeling inside. That’s where the fire came from. I had to block out the noise and turn inward. Creatively, I tapped into my love for dramatic, unapologetic Bollywood moments, Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai was a big reference. I wanted to bring that energy, but through my lens: vulnerable, empowered, layered. This track was me saying, “I choose me.” It’s not just a song, it’s a reclaiming.

How does it feel now that the song has done so well? What kind of reactions are you getting from people around you?
It feels surreal, honestly. This song was a risk—it’s bolder, more exposed, more “me” than anything I’ve done before. And people felt it. The messages, the dance videos, the way people are tapping into their own power through it—that’s the real win.
Even my parents were touched. Seeing them proud and vibing to something that’s so me, that hit different. The reactions have reminded me that when you move from truth, it resonates.
What does it take to be an independent artist?
It takes courage. And endurance. You wear all the hats: label, manager, creative director, accountant, therapist. You hustle hard, but you also protect your vision like it’s sacred—because it is. Being independent means I get to shape my world completely, from sound to visuals to story. It also takes a strong community. I’ve been blessed with people around me who remind me why I started when I feel like quitting. It’s not easy—but it’s real, and it’s mine.

What does your 2025 look like?
2025 is the year of Peaceful Attitude, my debut album. It’s a full spectrum of who I’ve become, a reflection of my growth, heartbreak, healing, and joy. I’m also expanding SHAVA, my fashion line, bringing my music and style together in a way that feels deeply intentional. There’ll be live shows, new visuals, deeper connections. I feel like everything’s starting to align, like I’m finally stepping into the space I’ve been carving for years.
Any additional comments or anything you’d like to tell us?
Yeah—don’t wait for someone to give you permission. Especially if you’re someone who lives in-between cultures, who feels “too much” or “not enough.” That in-between space? That’s your superpower. I make music for the girls like me, who pray and fight, who love hard and dream big, who cry in the car and still show up. Keep burning, even if the world tries to dim you.
Well, on the rise and going strong, BombayMami is an artist to watch out for!
