Mumbai, 12th April 2023: Los-Angeles based singer, songwriter, and composer of Indian origin Natania Lalwani, has joined the publishing roster at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation – home to many of today’s most iconic artists, including Rihanna, Megan Thee Stallion, J Balvin, and DJ Khaled.
The signing announcement follows the release of Natania’s debut collaboration with Nick Jonas and KING on the global crossover single ‘Maan Meri Jaan: Afterlife’.
Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith, Co-Founder, Roc Nation says, “When I co-founded Roc Nation with my partners, I wanted this company to sign the greatest songwriters in the world and bridge their talents across all of Roc’s music, film, TV, sports, and brand interests. In the few months we have been creating music together, Natania has surpassed all hopes and expectations.”
Natania Lalwani further adds, “I have dedicated my life to the craft of songwriting and am beyond thrilled to partner with such a company that supports artists and culture at the absolute highest level. It is a blessing to have this incredible team supporting my music and vision.”
Born and raised in Mumbai, Natania moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18 to study at the Musicians Institute. Over the last twelve years, she has become one of the most sought-after songwriters in India. She spent the first month of 2023 writing with Indian pop stars Armaan Malik and KING for their forthcoming projects. Soon thereafter she joined J Balvin at his London camp.
Andrew Gould, EVP of Music Publishing, Roc Nation expresses, “Natania is a music publisher’s dream. She possesses some of the strongest pop sensibilities I have seen and marries these with her own flavor of South Asian and global musicality. I am extremely excited for her and her long career.”
Now, Natania is making noise beyond India’s borders, commanding the attention of the US and international music community. As an independent recording artist and a revered name in the sync world, brands such as Apple, Instagram, Maybelline, and Spotify India have licensed her songs and recordings for their campaigns.
In film and TV, her music can be heard in all three seasons of the Amazon series Four More Shots Please!, Netflix’s 2022 romantic comedy Wedding Season, and in the movie M3GAN, where her collaboration with Bella Poarch spawned the single ‘Dolls’
Natania is currently managed by Jake Posner at The Culture Theory. Her pipeline releases and recent collaborations include Armaan Malik, King, Shenseea, Louis the Child, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Bülow, Noa Kirel, Kah Lo, Halle Abadi, and Natania’s own EP due this fall.
