After Delhi success, The Revisit Project’s instrumental tribute to Indian film music heads to NMACC, Mumbai

Mumbai, 9^th July 2025: After a string of packed shows in Delhi, acclaimed contemporary instrumental band The Revisit Project is all set to bring their much-loved concert series — Celebrating Indian Composers — to Mumbai for a one-night-only performance at The Studio, NMACC, on August 1, 2025.

This special showcase pays tribute to the timeless legends of Indian cinema, featuring reimagined renditions of iconic songs by S.D. Burman, R.D. Burman, Jatin–Lalit, A.R. Rahman, Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, and more. Spanning musical eras from the 1960s to the present day, the band breathes new life into classics using rich instrumental arrangements — with no vocalists on stage.

But what truly sets this experience apart is the audience. In each of the four sold-out Delhi performances, the crowd spontaneously turned into a living choir, singing every word of the classics with such love and clarity that even the band found themselves amazed.

“Usually, it’s the audience that gets surprised by our instrumental take on these songs,” shares Abhay Sharma, saxophonist for the band. “But this time, it was us. Mid-performance, we paused — stunned to hear hundreds of people sing these lyrics with so much heart. It lifted the energy of the entire set. These are songs our parents and grandparents grew up with — and to see young people sing them with just as much passion is incredibly powerful.”

The Revisit Project, known for blending jazz, funk, and soul with Indian influences, has earned a devoted following across the independent music circuit for their storytelling through sound. With Celebrating Indian Composers, they’re not just performing music — they’re creating a shared emotional space between generations.
