The Rolling Stones Return To The Studio After ‘Foreign Tongues’ As Mick Jagger Teases New Music

Mumbai, 11th October 2026: The Rolling Stones are reportedly back in the studio, raising hopes of new music just months after the release of their latest album, Foreign Tongues. Jazz saxophonist Courtney Pine revealed that he recently recorded with frontman Mick Jagger during an appearance on BBC Radio 3’s Private Passions. Speaking about the session, Pine said, “I’ve just done another session a couple of weeks ago with him for The Rolling Stones.” The revelation suggests that the legendary rock band could already be exploring its next creative chapter.

Pine has previously collaborated with Jagger, contributing saxophone to the singer’s 1993 solo album Wandering Spirit. However, it remains unclear whether his latest recording session will feature on a future Rolling Stones album. In June, Jagger told NME that he had already started writing songs before Foreign Tongues was released, suggesting the possibility of another record. “Yeah, it could be a trio… I’ve already started writing songs anyway,” he said, while noting that some material might ultimately be suited to other artists.

Released on July 10, 2026, Foreign Tongues became the Rolling Stones’ 15th UK Number One album, drawing the band level with The Beatles on the all-time chart. The record followed 2023’s Hackney Diamonds and continued the group’s remarkable run of creative activity. Keith Richards has also indicated that the momentum from making the latest album has encouraged the band to keep working, while Jagger remains enthusiastic about writing new material.

Although fresh studio activity has sparked speculation about another album, the band’s live plans remain uncertain. The Rolling Stones scrapped plans for a UK and European stadium tour in 2026 after Richards was unable to commit. Jagger has expressed hope of performing live in 2027, including the possibility of another Glastonbury appearance. Guitarist Ronnie Wood has also voiced his willingness to tour, although he acknowledged that all three members need to share the same enthusiasm. For now, the latest studio session offers an encouraging sign that the Rolling Stones’ musical journey may be far from over.
