Guitarist-singer-producer Zohran Miranda stays true to his retro synth-pop sound on his new album ‘How To Be’

Mumbai, 8^th November 2025: Following his 2023 debut EP – Time for Two, Mumbai-based singer-songwriter-producer-guitarist Zohran Miranda has released his first full-length 10-track album ‘How to Be’. Featuring some of the country’s top musicians and collaborators from India and abroad, the record expands on Zohran’s signature futuristic synth-pop disco sound.

This album dives into a universal question “How does one carry himself/herself in this mad, twisted world where truth blurs with fiction, and even the mirror lies?” Through this journey, Zohran reflects on what it means to truly be oneself and whether striving for that ideal is even necessary.

Speaking about the album, Zohran shares, “This album is the result of over five years of work and truly defines me as an independent musician. I’ve stayed true to the vintage pop-tronic, funky disco vibe that my sound is known for. Each track on How to Be is connected by the same message i.e. to stop overthinking our existence and simply be ourselves, without attachments. It’s a simple idea cutting through all of life’s supposed complexities and pressures.”

The album opens with Gotta Love It, setting the tone with its infectious old-school funk groove. Zohran teams up with long-time collaborators, including acclaimed singer-songwriter Nikhil D’Souza, who takes a fresh turn on the 80s pop-rock anthem Why Do I. Another constant in Zohran’s journey is Jovian Soans, who co-produces, mixes, and masters all of his music till date, sculpting every reverb tail, drum transient, and bass pop into a timeless sonic canvas.

Other notable contributors include Megha Bhardwaj and Natasha Pinto on backing vocals across multiple tracks, along with Rushad Mistry, Jai Row Kavi, Nathan Thomas, Aditya Ashok, and international artists Tag Abiola, Andreas Rodosthenous, and Silvio Centamore.
