Instagram’s New Update Lets You Change Music On Published Posts Without Losing Likes Or Reach

Mumbai, 22nd July 2026: Instagram has rolled out a creator-friendly update that is set to make life much easier for content creators, musicians, and brands. Users can now change the music on feed posts and carousel posts even after they have been published, without losing likes, comments, shares, or reach. By simply tapping Edit and selecting a new track, creators can replace the existing audio instead of deleting and re-uploading a post, making it easier than ever to keep content aligned with trending songs and evolving audience preferences.

The feature marks another significant step in Instagram’s push to empower creators with greater flexibility while preserving valuable engagement. Whether it’s refreshing an older post with a viral track or correcting an audio choice, the update ensures creators no longer have to sacrifice performance for creativity. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri also highlighted the feature in a recent post, reinforcing the platform’s focus on giving users more control over their content in an increasingly music-driven social media landscape.
