IAMDDB Calls Out Israeli Govt. Over Alleged Unauthorised Use Of Her Likeness In AI-Generated Video

Mumbai, 22nd October 2026: Manchester-based rapper and singer IAMDDB has criticised the Israeli government after an AI-generated video featuring a woman resembling the artist was shared on official social media accounts. The musician accused those responsible of using her identity without permission, raising fresh concerns about artificial intelligence, digital impersonation and artists’ rights. The video, which circulated on October 15, has since been deleted following the controversy.

The controversy gained traction after viewers noticed similarities between the AI-generated figure and IAMDDB, whose real name is Diana Adelaide Rocha De Brito. The video featured a woman performing lyrics promoting a pro-Israel narrative and was reportedly shared with the caption, “‘GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM!’ We did.” Responding on X on October 16, the artist directly challenged the alleged use of her likeness, writing, “Hiya yeah so – why did you steal my identity for something I 100% did not consent to?” Her response quickly drew attention to the potential misuse of AI to create the appearance of an artist endorsing a message without their involvement.

In a subsequent statement on Instagram, IAMDDB clarified that she had not authorised, approved or participated in the video or its message. She also expressed solidarity with civilians affected by violence and displacement, particularly Palestinians, while reaffirming her opposition to the killing and suffering of innocent people. Addressing her previous performance in Israel, the singer explained that her understanding of the situation had changed since that appearance and stressed that it should not be interpreted as an endorsement of any government’s actions. She also said she was exploring appropriate steps to protect her image, work and rights.

The incident highlights growing questions about consent, ownership and accountability as AI-generated content becomes increasingly convincing. For musicians, whose public identities are closely connected to their creative work, unauthorised digital likenesses can create the false impression of political or commercial endorsements. IAMDDB’s response reinforces the importance of giving artists control over how their faces, voices and identities are represented. As generative AI reshapes music and digital media, the controversy adds urgency to conversations about protecting creative rights and ensuring that technological innovation does not come at the expense of personal consent.
