Mumbai, 3rd November 2026: Justin Timberlake is reportedly preparing a four-part docuseries for Apple TV, revisiting some of the most talked-about moments of his career. Expected to arrive in December 2026, the project is being described as a “tell-all” and will, reportedly, be directed by filmmaker Fisher Stevens. According to reports, the series will feature Janet Jackson discussing the controversial 2004 Super Bowl halftime performance that brought both artists into the centre of a global media storm. The project is expected to explore significant chapters of Timberlake’s personal and professional life, although Apple has yet to announce an official title or release date.
One of the most anticipated aspects of the series is Jackson’s reported participation in revisiting the 2004 Super Bowl XXXVIII incident. During the halftime performance, Timberlake exposed part of Jackson’s costume while performing ‘Rock Your Body’, triggering widespread controversy. The incident, popularly known as the ‘wardrobe malfunction’, had vastly different consequences for the two performers. Jackson faced intense public criticism and professional setbacks, while Timberlake continued his career with comparatively limited backlash. The incident has since become an important conversation around media scrutiny, gender inequality and accountability in the entertainment industry.
The docuseries will also reportedly address Timberlake’s past relationship with Britney Spears and some of her more recent comments. Their relationship, which lasted from 1999 to 2002, returned to public discussion following Spears’ 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me. In 2021, Timberlake publicly apologised to both Spears and Jackson, acknowledging his past actions and the unequal treatment women experienced within the entertainment industry. His involvement in the documentary could offer another opportunity to reflect on these controversies and their lasting impact.
