Mumbai, 28th May 2026: axe.shay has arrived with something that is immersive, intense, and emotionally layered. The Goa-based composer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter has released his latest single My Location, a genre-defying alternative rock release that blends blues, Western influences, and Indian classical textures into a deeply psychological sonic experience.

My Location explores themes of surveillance, emotional confinement, algorithmic control, and the loss of personal freedom in a hyper-digital world. The track captures the unsettling feeling of constantly being watched, not only physically, but psychologically and creatively. Speaking about the release, axe.shay says, “My Location’ is about the tension between who you are and who you’re allowed to be. The idea of ‘location’ goes beyond the physical; it’s about being pinned down psychologically, emotionally, even creatively. When everything about you feels mapped out..your tendencies, your choices, your voice, you start to question what freedom actually means”.

The release also highlights axe.shay’s rich musical lineage and artistic evolution. As the great-grandson of legendary Thumri vocalist Naina Devi and a graduate of the University of Southern California, his artistry exists at the intersection of tradition and experimentation. With previous recognition from Talenthouse, OMEC Digital’s #TeleportYourTone contest, and the UK Songwriting Contest, alongside endorsements from Orange Amplification and Rotosound Strings, the artist is steadily building one of the most compelling alternative music identities in India right now.
