Raje debuts with ‘Sway’, a disco-dipped love letter to Mumbai’s everyday life

Mumbai, 22^nd November 2025: Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Raje makes a debut with ‘Sway’, a synth-driven, disco-glazed pop track inspired by the city’s restless rhythm, late-night commutes, and the fleeting magic tucked inside everyday chaos.

“Sway is a baby I had while flirting with Mumbai traffic, to the sound of synth and trumpets, and I could see disco balls everywhere. That’s how fun the music video is too”, Raje shares as she recalls the moment the song was born.

The track started with a beat by producer Anshul Dawar, whom Raje had just met. Both were juggling day jobs and freelance hustles, squeezing music into evenings, rickshaws, crowded trains, and half-sleep moments. One such night, while rushing to Anshul’s studio, Raje wrote the hook in under 30 minutes.

Months of experimentation across production ideas, mixes, masters, and video drafts followed. When Raje finally decided the song was ready, she threw a release party, which organically became the music video. Shot across Mumbai with her closest friends, the video captures the city like a living, breathing co-star. Directed and shot by Aman Chhetri (Prettyboi), with edits by Shatter Dome, the visuals drip with disco energy and the raw joy of roaming the city at night.

Looking ahead, Raje is preparing a wide spectrum of releases, from aching love ballads to punchy rap records, collaborating with producers including Maharshi Jani (Outfly). Her artistic core remains rooted in honesty, unfiltered emotion, and lived experience.
