New Delhi, 7th November 2025: Multi-award-winning artist Vineet Singh Hukmani is stepping into uncharted territory with his upcoming double blues album — “Delta Blues Revival” (English) and “Kyon? Punjabi Blues” (Punjabi), released today. Recorded entirely on analogue tape, the project stands as a love letter to authenticity in an age of digital perfection.

“Delta Blues Revival” pays homage to the timeless grit and emotion of Mississippi blues, while “Kyon? Punjabi Blues” fuses the soul of the Delta with the depth and cadence of Punjabi storytelling. Both albums were recorded live to 8-track analogue tape, featuring the legendary yet elusive Mississippi blues guitarist Ruffus Cotton and his band — a collaboration that captures the warmth, imperfection, and honesty of real musicianship.

Speaking about the process, Vineet shares, “After learning and recording my Jazz/Traditional Pop album ‘Enigma’, I was drawn to an even rawer form of pure music — the Mississippi Delta blues. While I initially wrote and recorded 12 songs in English, I had an epiphany to extend this magic to Punjabi — resulting in my first-ever Punjabi album. Thanks to Mr. Ruffus Cotton’s training, I’ve been able to express myself authentically in the blues genre. Choosing the warm imperfections of analog allowed us to focus on being real and creative rather than being swept away by the sheen of perfect digital technology.”

Ruffus Cotton adds, “I never imagined working on a blues album with a musician from India. Vineet not only learned ‘the blues way’ but put his soul into the music in a very special way. I’m truly honoured to be part of this double analogue album. Hearing Vineet sing the blues in English — and then in Punjabi — was a double wonder for me”
With 12 tracks in English and 7 in Punjabi, the double album showcases Vineet’s fearless curiosity and craftsmanship. From smoky guitar riffs to the heartbeat of vintage tape hiss, every sound serves the same purpose — bringing soul back to the centre of sound.
The albums are streaming across all platforms from today, with vinyl editions to follow.
