From the Stage to the Frame: Verus Ferreira Celebrates the Magic of Live Music

Mumbai, 21st October 2026: Music journalist, author and photographer Verus Ferreira brings the energy and emotion of live performances to life through his second Music Concert Photography Exhibition in Mumbai. A music journalist for over three decades and founder of MusicUnplugged.in, Ferreira’s passion for concert photography grew naturally from his work covering musicians and live performances. The exhibition, which he describes as India’s first dedicated music concert photography exhibition, is being held from October 16 to 31, 2026, at the Free Press Gallery, Nariman Point, Mumbai.

Featuring 60 framed photographs, including two new additions, the exhibition showcases Indian and international artists such as Bryan Adams, Slash, Steve Vai, Joss Stone, Megadeth, Anoushka Shankar, Usha Uthup, Louiz Banks, Zakir Hussain, Lucky Ali and Zubin Mehta, among others. For Ferreira, concert photography is about capturing fleeting moments that cannot be recreated, the expressions, movements and emotions that make every live performance unique. His photographs aim to tell stories, connect viewers with artists and preserve the atmosphere of memorable musical experiences.

Ferreira believes music photography deserves greater recognition in India, where live performances have long been an important part of the cultural landscape. In an era dominated by digital images and fleeting social media posts, he emphasises the value of printed photographs that can be appreciated in person, displayed and cherished. His concert photography has previously featured in Smart Photography and The Sunday Free Press Journal. He is also the author of The Great Music Quiz Book and The Great Rock Music Quiz Book, the latter featuring Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash on its cover.
