Bad Bunny Makes Emmy History, Seven Wins For Super Bowl LX Halftime Show
Mumbai, 7th September 2026: Bad Bunny has added another major milestone to his global career, winning his first Primetime Emmy for the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. The Puerto Rican superstar was among the biggest winners at the first night of the 78th Emmy Awards, with the spectacular halftime production taking home seven awards. The wins further cement Bad Bunny’s growing influence beyond music, as the artist continues to expand his creative footprint across entertainment.
The biggest victory came in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category, where The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny emerged victorious. Bad Bunny is officially credited as both performer and producer, marking his first Emmy win. The Television Academy lists the special among his Emmy achievements, giving the artist one win from one nomination.
The halftime show’s Emmy haul extended across several major creative categories. It also won Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Choreography for a Variety or Reality Program, Outstanding Sound Mixing, Outstanding Lighting Design or Lighting Direction, Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork, and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special. The directing award went to Hamish Hamilton, while Miguel Gandelman was recognised for music direction. The ambitious production featured special appearances from Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, alongside a surprise wedding and professional boxers Xander Zayas and Emiliano Vargas, adding multiple layers to the live spectacle.
The Emmy victory arrives as another defining moment for Bad Bunny, whose Super Bowl performance brought together music, choreography, visual production and Puerto Rican cultural identity on one of the world’s biggest stages.
